HOW DID YOU GET STARTED AND HOW DID YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

I grew up in my dad’s cabinetry shop. When I moved up to southern Indiana to date my now wife, I worked in general construction that constructed homes from the ground up and then at a high-end custom cabinetry shop for several years before moving back to Florida. Although there is no formal “schooling” for what we do, looking back I now realize that during that time I was actually getting paid to gain the knowledge and expertise that has prepared me for what I do now.

WHAT’S ONE THING THAT YOU THINK PEOPLE GET WRONG ABOUT KITCHEN DESIGN?

People tend to limit themselves by only being open to copying a design that everyone else does instead of taking a risk and in turn getting an amazing outside-of-the-box design

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR DESIGN STYLE? WHAT INSPIRES YOUR DESIGNS?

I appreciate both traditional and modern styles. When it comes to traditional, I lean toward classic. And I prefer simplicity when it comes to modern.

WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF KITCHEN DESIGN?

My wife is amazing and my favorite thing to do is spend time with her and my four boys. I also enjoy traveling, hunting, and surfing.

WHAT’S THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE EVER BEEN GIVEN?

I used to question my ability due to lack of formal training and being one of the younger people in this field. I had someone pull my aside and say, “Be confident in yourself, you know what you are doing.” That word of encouragement validated me and allowed me to design and learn and grow with confidence.
