HOW DID YOU GET STARTED AND HOW DID YOU GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

My background is in branding and graphic arts, but I have always had a natural proclivity for home design. In 2015, I found myself undertaking a major kitchen renovation in which I absolutely fell in love with the process, the industry and the outcome. From there I began to formally hone my skills as a designer, building on my knowledge of spatial design with the technical methods of custom cabinetry. Now I’m able to live that passion as I learn from and design with the best at Campbell Cabinetry.

WHAT’S ONE THING THAT YOU THINK PEOPLE GET WRONG ABOUT KITCHEN DESIGN?

It’s so important to clarify design priorities up front. A clear vision of what the client values, whether it be the aesthetic or function of the space, serves as a guide for how best to make design decisions. When there’s no clarity, the countless options can easily become overwhelming and the process loses its fun. As a designer, I want to help my clients fully understand and prioritize what they want out of their space, with the goal being to strike the perfect balance of beauty and utility.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR DESIGN STYLE? WHAT INSPIRES YOUR DESIGNS?

I love creating spaces that are both elegant and eclectic, tending toward classic, long-lasting designs paired with unexpected personal touches. My personal design style has a European influence, with rich traditional elements that have been simplified for a refined, transitional look. I find inspiration everywhere I look, but I am particularly inspired by a love of historic architecture and spaces that wear the years well. No matter the style of the home, I believe good design should be useful and uncomplicated, while still being beautiful.

WHAT ARE YOUR INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF KITCHEN DESIGN?

My absolute favorite things to do are travel with my husband, cook and search for vintage finds in our local shops. Sarasota is full of history, and I love living in a place that values the romance of simple pleasures – good food, meaningful art, and beautiful sunsets.

WHAT’S THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE EVER BEEN GIVEN?

We have a saying in my home – “doing the right thing is always the right thing.” It’s as simple as that.
